Standard Central Air Conditioning Condensers
A condensing unit is the main component of central air conditioning system, and is the part that sits outside the home. Inside it is a pump called a compressor, coils, fan and electrical system. The condenser comes entirely pre-assembled. R410A units are pre-charged with refrigerant. (R22 units are being phased out over time. R410A is the new more environmentally friendly refrigerant).
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. The higher the SEER, the less electricity the unit uses when operating. All SEER units of the same cooling capacity (size, measured in tons or BTUs) produce the same amount of cooling, but the higher SEER models save you more money on your electrical utility bills.
To match a condenser with its appropriate components to create a complete air conditioning system, use our easy System Selector. Simply answer a few questions online, and we will immediately provide you with a complete package including the cooling equipment and components, furnace or air handler, and more.
