Concentric vent kits make it possible to have a two-pipe installation for high efficiency furnaces, while only cutting one hole through the wall or roof where the pipes terminate. Installation without a concentric vent kit would otherwise require two holes cut through the home (2" or 3" depending on the furnace), one for each pipe. The concentric vent kit is an optional accessory to allow you to cut only one larger hole, instead.
