The CX30BD2SPDWT Whole House Fan will ventilate 2000 to 3000 square feet (on one story only) and provides a great alternative to cooling your home compared to a traditional air conditioner. Whole house fans draw air in through the windows and exhaust it through the attic. If air conditioning is installed, it can be turned off any time the outside temperature is at or below the desired temperature in the home. Since it is just a fan and not a refrigerant-based air conditioning unit, it is much more cost effective to run, costing as little as 1/10th as much to operate compared traditional air conditioning.
