The compact Patriot 80 series oil furnaces comes in a variety of configurations to fit virtually anywhere, including utility rooms, alcoves, closets, crawl spaces and attics. In addition to upflow, downflow/horizontal, and front flue versions, models come in heat only and heating cooling combinations. Foil-faced fiberglass insulation, a ceramic high temperature combustion chamber, and harmonically balanced blower keep operating noise to a minimum.

 (Note regarding air conditioning: When adding AC, evaporator coil must be placed at least 6" from outlet of conditioned air due to high temps. If you will be adding a Goodman air conditioner or heat pump system to an oil furnace, you must replace the air conditioning evaporator coil's drain pan with a high temperature one, Goodman models HTP-A, B, C or D. Please call Alpine for assistance.)

    Beckett AFG burner with flame retention head, PSC motor, and solid state ignition.

    A simple nozzle change adjusts the firing rate.  Units are shipped with the high firing rate nozzle installed, and also include the low firing nozzle uninstalled.  
  • Easy Access Clean Out Ports:
    For quick, simple maintenance.


 

Configuration

Configuration is the direction the conditioned air will pass through the unit.

Upflow units will have the air come in from the bottom and blow out the top.

Horizontal units will have the air go through the unit left to right, or right to left.

Downflow units will have the air come in from the top of the unit, and blow out the bottom.

Blower Cooling Capacity

The tonnage of air conditioning that can be moved effectively by the blower. You want to make sure that the blower is appropriately sized for the air conditioner. If it is too small the coil could ice up. If it is too large than the air coming out of the ducts won't be cold enough.

The maximum amount of heat that the unit can produce. The amount delivered into the space will be the input minus the efficiency loss also know as the output. For example a 100000 btu furnace at 80% efficiency will give you 80000 out btus of heat. The same size furnace at 95% will give you 95000 btus of heat.
