In the past, challenges with adding room control to electric heat baseboards, convectors or fan-forced heaters included anything from having to open up and re-patch walls in order to wire the control to losing jobs because the homeowner doesn’t want wall to be opened for wiring. Thanks to Honeywell’s RedLINK™ Wireless Technology and EConnect, those days are gone

EConnect is a two-piece system that includes both a control (thermostat) and an Equipment Interface Module (EIM). The EConnect control and EIM communicate with each other using proven Honeywell RedLINK™ wireless technology. Here’s how:

Wireless EConnect Thermostat

  • Brings the control from the floor to the wall to optimize sensing and homeowner comfort
  • Installs wirelessly - anywhere the homeowner wants it
  • Communicates with compatible RedLINK-enabled accessories
  • Configures as programmable or non-programmable based on homeowner needs
  • Incorporates simple, plain-language user interface for easy setup & programming that reduces callbacks
  • Initial thermostat configuration can be copied to all other EConnect thermostats in the home
  • Easy battery replacement

Equipment Interface Module (EIM)

  • Compatible with convectors, fan-forced heaters, and baseboards
  • Can be mounted directly on most baseboards with knockouts/li>
  • Power the EIM with the existing electrical wires going to the heating device
  • Use multiple EIMs in applications where you wish to control multiple heating devices from a single control – up to 8 EIMs per thermostat. See installation manual for wattage limits.

Kit includes the Honeywell TA7210-AR-00W (Thermostat) and ATM100-SPK (EIM).

Manual/Digital

Manual - Conventional dial or lever style of mechanical thermostat. It doesn’t have many features.

Outdoor Temperature Sensor Capability

When used with an outdoor air sensor, this features allows the thermostat to sense the outdoor temperature and indicate such on the screen. Also allows some thermostats to automatically decide whether to heat or cool the home based on outside temperatures.

Outdoor Temperature Sensor Capability
Yes
Indoor Temperature Sensing Capability

Some thermostats provide for wiring to an accessory called an indoor sensor. The indoor sensor mounts in the home living space away from the thermostat, and tells the thermostat what the temperature is in that area. The thermostat will then use the temperature from the sensor to indicate the home's current comfort level, instead of just the temperature near the thermostat.

Memory Back-Up

Having this feature will store your set temperature or temperature schedule. In the event of a power failure, you won't have to reprogram the thermostat when the power returns.

Line Voltage Capable

Will operate on 120 volts A/C or 240 volts A/C as indicated for that model. Electric baseboard and specialty heaters often require a line voltage capable thermostat.
