The Rinnai FOT-220 21-40 in. vent extension kit extends the exhaust line and air intake hose between a Rinnai EX17DT or EX22DT direct vent wall furnace and its wall vent kit, so the furnace can be installed away from the exterior wall. Bends in the run use the FOT-158 bent elbow or FOT-201 long bent elbow, sold separately.

Rinnai venting guidelines (EX17DT and EX22DT)

• Maximum vent length 13 ft (4 m) with 3 bends; the bent pipe attached to the furnace does not count toward the 3 bends
• Maximum vertical length 10 ft (3 m)
• Extensions longer than 10 ft must slope 3° downward and drain to the outside
• No low points or sagging in the exhaust line
• Extensions in unconditioned space must be insulated with high-temperature insulation
• Extensions must not be concealed and must stay accessible for inspection (NFPA 54)
• Clearance from exhaust pipe: 1 in. to combustibles, 0 in. to non-combustibles
