Enhance Your Air Conditioning System: Complete Comfort Systems
A complete home comfort system consists of having multiple air-quality products working together to provide you with the most energy savings, comfort and indoor quality of life. Working along with your air conditioner as a team, these individual components installed together maximize the individual benefits of each.
High Efficiency Furnace or Air Handler
Select a new furnace or air handler to guarantee your new air conditioner works at its prime. Your furnace or air handler is an important component of an air conditioning system. It helps distribute cold air from the condensing unit, using a blower.
Your older, existing furnace or air handler may not have the proper air flow, which is critical to ensure proper cooling and efficiency of the air conditioner. Older furnaces and air handlers typically have slower blowers than newer models.
You might also consider a variable speed furnace or air handler. These increase air conditioning efficiency by about 6% to 8%.

A quality air filter attached to your furnace or air handler will clean the home air when your furnace or air conditioner operates. Standard 1″ wide disposable filters usually capture very little of the dust and dirt in the home air, which is why it is recommended to install a high efficiency air cleaner instead. High efficiency air cleaners will significantly reduce dust, dander, pollen, spores, smoke, etc. from all the home’s air. Doing so may reduce any associated allergy or health related conditions as well.

An ultraviolet purifier mounts on a home duct system and emits short-wave ultraviolet light into the ducts. This germicidal light kills a high percentage of micro-organisms in the air passing by it when your furnace or air conditioning operates. U.V. technology has been widely used in hospitals, pharmacies, kitchens and water treatment plants to kill airborne and surface microorganisms like mold, bacteria, viruses and fungus. Reducing bacteria and pathogens in the home may reduce the incidence of associated health problems.

Air exchangers are connected to a home duct system as well as to the outdoors to provide a constant, controlled supply of fresh air to the home. It has been a concern of builders and the Environmental Protection Agency (www.epa.gov/iaq) that indoor air quality is often unhealthy to breath due to construction materials, household chemicals, paints, plastics, carpeting, radon, personal cosmetics, etc… Additionally, modern home constructions are air-tight to the extent that moisture becomes trapped inside creating problems with mold growing behind walls and contaminating the structure. On the other hand, outdoor air is usually very clean and oxygen rich, thereby ideal to circulate into the home. Air exchangers bring the correct amount of fresh air into the home and expel stale air out of the home continuously while maintaining temperature and moisture balance.

Programmable thermostats help you save money and keep your home comfortable by automatically adjusting your temperature settings while you are asleep or away, saving you about $100 per year.
- Store four or more temperature settings a day
- Adjust heating or air conditioning turn-on times as the outside temperature changes
- Save and repeat multiple daily settings
