During shipping, the freight company picked these heat pumps up with a clamp which left some very slight denting to the sides. These units are in perfect working condition, and do not even have minor fin damage. This is a great deal, and we're passing the savings along to you! Only the heat pump is dented; the air handler is in perfect condition.

The Haier D1VAR series of heat pumps offer reliable compressors, a permanently lubricated fan motor, a liquid line filter drier, and heavy gauge steel construction. Haier heat pumps are manufactured to meet high quality standards, factory tested to ensure their performance in the field, and offer a 10 year limited warranty on all parts including the compressor.

Haier's Multi-Position Air Handlers are designed to be paired with air conditioners and heat pumps that use R-22 refrigerant.  They are durable, efficient, and allow for flexible installations since they can be used in an upflow, downflow, or horizontal right / left application.  A quiet, dynamically balanced blower wheel and a multi-speed fan motor minimize noise and enhance comfort.

This combo deal includes a Scratch-N-Dent Haier HR48D1VAR Heat Pump and HB4800VD1M22 Air Handler that is in perfect condition.  In addition, a line set is required to connect the two units.  The correct line sets for this system can be found by clicking the "Accessories" tab above.  For tips on selecting matched components and line sets click here.

Some models of the Haier heat pumps include an orifice (also called "flow rater" or "piston") in a small bag taped to the side of the heat pump. If the heat pump you purchase includes this orifice, you will need to replace the orifice already inside the air handler with the heat pump's included orifice. Doing so makes the heat pump and air handler compatible. You can view this step-by-step guide to see how to easily change the orifice.

Please note that this equipment comes pre-charged with liquid refrigerant, and that by federal law you must be EPA certified to handle the refrigerant.  Yes you can purchase this equipment without being certified, and if you are mechanically inclined you can perform about 90% of the equipment installation yourself.  However, you must have a professional heating / cooling contractor do the final part of the installation which requires managing the refrigerant.
