EFFICIENCY RATING

Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) is a standardized measure of how efficiently your furnace can recover heat from the combustion process. The higher the AFUE %, the more heat you will get per unit of fuel.

OPERATING COST
VENT TYPE
Vent Type

Standard efficiency (80%) furnaces produce hot exhaust gasses that must be vented using double-walled metal “B” vent pipe. This vent, or flue, is usually required to vent vertically through the building structure, such as through the roof or through a chimney via a metal chimney liner.

PRODUCES CONDENSATION
Produces Condensation

High efficiency (90% +) furnaces create a small amount of H2O, water, during the combustion process. This is similar to the way automobiles create a small amount of water during combustion which is seen as a drip of water coming off of the exhaust pipe of the car. Similarly, on high efficiency furnaces this water is collected inside the appliance and drained into your wastewater plumbing (such as a floor drain) by a flexible PVC tube or piped outside.

BLOWER MOTOR

The blower motor turns the fan (blower) that circulates air through the furnace into your home.

BURNER TYPE

Burners are the place inside the furnace where fuel is burned to create heat. There are two types. Single stage burners operate at 100% capacity. Two stage burners allow the furnace to operate at 65% (first stage) or 100% for increased efficiency and comfort.
THIS PRODUCT

Single Stage Burner

Good

Industry standard, simple, effective

Burner and fan operate at max capacity when furnace is on

Lower up-front cost fits your budget

Two Stage Burner

Best

Stabilizes room temperatures, quieter, more efficient

Burner and fan automatically operate in “high” or “low” based on conditions

You want lower utility bills and better heat distribution

REASONS YOU'LL LOVE YOUR BLUERIDGE GAS FURNACE

IT'S GUARANTEED RELIABLE

Tighter spaces between burners means less oxidation

Taller carryover gap means less buildup of combustion by-products

Learn More
Carryover Gap

A carryover gap is a gas channel that runs between individual burners. During ignition, the flame travels across this gap to light the burners in sequence.

No-kink, square pressure switch tubing

Lifetime warranty on heat exchangers, 10 year warranty on all other parts

Model series BG951 shown.
SUPERIOR BURNER TECHNOLOGY

Air channeling and wing-shaped design heat exchanger for maximum heat transfer

Aluminized steel primary, stainless steel secondary heat exchangers

No-weld, patented clamshell heat exchanger design eliminates hot spots

One-piece burner design for cleaner performance, longer life

Model series BG951 shown.
IT'S EASY TO INSTALL

Patented collector box allows for no-step conversion to horizontal - just lean it over

Learn More
Collector Box

The collector box encloses the secondary heat exchanger, and collects the condensation that forms during normal furnace operation, so that it can be easily sent to a wastewater drain or piped outside.

Thumbscrew front cover access - no tool required

Smart design features cuts installation time by 60 mins

One-tool design, all inside fasteners are the same size

Self-aligning guides and built-in support channels designed into all major components

Model series BG951 shown.
IT'S SUPER QUIET

Sequential ignition across smaller burners means no “whoosh” on startup

Solid state ignition means no multiple clicking sounds when furnaces lights

Thicker sheet metal, cabinet reinforcement result in a rigid, vibration-free chassis

Foil faced insulation blanket stops noise transmission and heat loss

Specifications

Configuration

Configuration is the direction the conditioned air will pass through the unit.

Upflow units will have the air come in from the bottom and blow out the top.

Horizontal units will have the air go through the unit left to right, or right to left.

Downflow units will have the air come in from the top of the unit, and blow out the bottom.

Unsure of what configuration your home needs? Call us at 800-865-5931. Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm CST

Configuration
Horizontal / Upflow
Blower Cooling Capacity

The tonnage of air conditioning that can be moved effectively by the blower. You want to make sure that the blower is appropriately sized for the air conditioner. If it is too small the coil could ice up. If it is too large than the air coming out of the ducts won't be cold enough.

Blower Cooling Capacity
3 Tons
Maximum Input BTU

The maximum amount of heat that the unit can produce. The amount delivered into the space will be the input minus the efficiency loss also know as the output. For example a 100000 btu furnace at 80% efficiency will give you 80000 out btus of heat. The same size furnace at 95% will give you 95000 btus of heat.

Maximum Input BTU
44000 BTU
Maximum Heating Output BTU

The amount of heat, rated in British Thermal Units (BTUs), that the unit can deliver into the space. Not sure how many BTUs you need? Try our easy Equipment Sizing Estimator.

Maximum Heating Output BTU
42000 BTU
Maximum CFM

The maximum amount of air that the blower can push. Rated in Cubic feet per minute or CFM.

Maximum CFM
1215 @ 0.5
Blower Type

There are three main type of blowers: Multi-Speed, High-Efficiency Multi-Speed, and Variable Speed.

Standard Multi-Speed blowers have different speed options and you select the speed that the blower will operate at depending on the function it is performing (ex. different speeds for fan, AC, and heating functions).

High-Efficiency Multi-Speed blowers are designed to maintain a constant torque and in doing so will maintain air-flow and use less electricity.

Variable Speed blowers will adjust their speed during operation. The result is a blower that will run at lower speeds for longer periods of time (this improves the air flow and increases electrical efficiency).

Blower Type
High Efficiency Multi-Speed
Efficiency (% AFUE)

The percentage of energy converted into output by the unit. The remaining percentage is lost during the conversion process. The higher the efficiency, the lower the operational cost.

Efficiency (% AFUE)
95 %
Burner Stages

A single stage furnace has one heat setting. The furnace is either on at full capacity or it is off.

A two stage furnace has two different heat settings; one full capacity and a second lower heat setting. The advantage of a two stage furnace is that it extends the run time which does a better job distributing the air in your home. This helps improve your homes comfort level while reducing drafty areas.

A modulating furnace will heat on a low capacity until a call for high heat is sent to the furnace. Once a high heat call is initiated the furnace will slowly increase the burner level and blower speed over time, until reaching full capacity. The advantages are potentially reduced noise and better efficiency in some models. A modulating furnace should provide the best comfort level.
