Blueridge heat pumps are built in North America for an unbeatable combination of quality and price. They provide highly efficient, powerful cooling during hot weather, and when the weather turns cold, onboard technology reverses the refrigerant cycle to provide heat, and at a fraction of the cost of many alternative heat sources (particularily alternate forms of electric heat, propane, and fuel oil). Blueridge furnaces are built in North America and are designed for efficient and quiet operation along with ease of installation and maintenance.

This system is designed for an upflow application with the furnace standing up straight and blowing air into ducts above it, It consists of a heat pump, a two stage gas furnace, and an evaporator coil.

This is a certified, high efficency, 15.8 SEER2 matching dual fuel system. A dual fuel system provides the best of both worlds. It will use energy efficient heat pump generated heat when the weather is cold outside and a dual fuel compatible thermostat (accessorized below)  will switch off the heat pump and turn on the gas furnace on the coldest days. This combination provides optimal heating for your home regardless of the outdoor conditions and can save you anywhere from 10-30% on your heating bills.

The 2 stage furnace is designed to run at full output or 70% of its rated output. As the furnace increases and decreases the heat it generates the fan speed increases and decreases with it. This has several advantages. The furnace will run for longer periods of time at lower output levels, this increases both the electrical and gas efficiency of the system, and makes these furnaces very quiet. The longer run times will more effectively mix the air in your home helping to even out the temperatures throughout. The variable speed motor is a smart motor that can adjust to conditions inside your duct system to optimize the air delivery through your home. The furnace is designed to use natural gas but it can be converted to using propane. The propane (lp) conversion kit and other install components are in accessories section below.

Please note that this heat pump comes pre-charged with R-410A liquid refrigerant and by Federal law cannot be released to the atmosphere. You can purchase this equipment without being EPA certified, and if you are mechanically inclined you may perform about 90% of the equipment installation yourself. However we strongly recommend to have a professional heating/cooling contractor do the final part of the installation including managing the refrigerant. An HVAC contractor has the tools and know-how to do this work. Also, having a contractor perform the final startup and inspection of this heat pump validates your warranty with Alpine.
